Community Task Force is part of the Department for Work & Pensions
Young Person's Guarantee and will help young jobseekers (aged 18-24)
make a real difference in their local communities.
Scottish Training Foundation and its partner TBG Learning along with
a range of local businesses and community organisations are working
together with Jobcentre Plus to provide opportunities for young
people to take part in work experience, aimed at increasing their
chances of getting a job whilst making a really worthwhile
contribution to their local area.
The Community Task Force gives young people 13 weeks of work
experience together with personal mentoring to help them find the
job they want. There is a wide range of placements to choose from,
so there is something for everyone. Young people who join the
Community Task Force will work a 25 hour week, with an additional
five hours being dedicated to increasing their job searching skills
and utilising these skills to find work.
Each work placement will be structured to provide environmental,
economic and social benefits to their community. Experience has
shown that the Community Task Force has increased participants
skills, confidence, self esteem and motivation. All essential
ingredients to finding sustainable employment.
Scottish Training Foundation deliver The Community Task Force in
North Ayrshire and North Lanarkshire.
